Education Matters Conference 2011

The tenth annual Education Matters Conference, hosted by Norfolk's Virtual School for Children in Care, took place on 22nd June 2011 at the John Innes Conference Centre Norwich. The theme this year was "Raising the achievement of looked after children - In and through the Arts".
The conference was jointly presented by the Virtual School Head and one of our Care Leavers and focussed on how creative activities can enhance the educational journey of Looked After Children and promote wellbeing.
The day included some thought provoking presentations, outlining local and national perspectives, from renowned speakers such as Christina Enright from KidsCo and Professor Anne Bamford; colourful performances and first class "hands-on" workshops ranging from Puppet Making to a music workshop with the opportunity to experience and try beat-boxing!
