G.C.S.E. ACCESS PROJECT

Aged 15-16, Year 10-11

Are you looking to achieve a GCSE in English and Maths?

If you would like to achieve a GCSE in these subjects, why not come along to ‘The Door' and have an informal chat.

The GAP Project provides young people in care with the opportunity to gain GCSEs, particularly if they are not currently attending school.

There are currently 2 tutors, Steve Smith and Nikki Rolla on hand to support and ensure that YOU are in a position to pass these subjects. All teaching is on a 1-1 basis and the programme of learning is suited to each individual.

You will develop an action plan of learning alongside the tutor, making sure that the plan is targeted at the areas YOU may need to improve on.

We have lots of young people who attend the GAP at the moment and they are working on a combination of 1-1 session work and coursework.

Whatever career you decide to follow, the need for English and Maths qualifications is essential. Why not call in and have a chat with us. It costs nothing to talk. This project may sound like you're going back to school, but it's actually very different. Most of our young people think of it as attending College for 3 or 4 sessions each week.

To find out more information about GAP, call in at ‘The Door' on Hanover Street or ask your Connexions advisor to contact us.
